Replication - HELP!

Can queries be written on a replicated copy? Our IS Dept
states this cannot be done and state that they have to
have the "master database" (Design Master) in order to
write queries against it. We want to be able to search on
the data from our Intranet. Are they correct or not?

Hi,

yes you can create queries in a replica, they just will
not be replicated to the Design Master or other replicas
(they are 'local' to that replica). To enable new queries
to be replicated they must be created in the Design Master.
