Replacing the dish or cable TV VIA the Internet

I have a 32 MB DDR SDRAM video card with 512 MB SDRAM of
memory with a 2.26 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor.
Is there a way I can get rid my Dish and use the Internet
to access my favorite TV programs and movies VIA the
Internet alone?

Thanks for the reply. That is what I thought. It's bad to
be tied to a landline or a dish. We need another UFO to
crash land so the government can find out how to do this
and let it trickle down to us users like the computer did.
The part where no telephone needed must have burnt up in
the crash of the last one.
