Have a partitioned hard drive, c, d, and e. On c is windows xp pro which was
installed when i purchased the machine, it is not genuine. On the e drive is
xp home which is genuine. Vista upgrade advisor has checked both and both can
be upgraded, however, i want to replace the non genuine on c with the genuine
on e before i buy upgrade pack.(Ultimate) so question is, how do i do this,
have tried ghost to no avail, or will the upgrade legalise the xp pro?

I forsee a disaster as the boot.ini sits on the current c drive.

Thank you for your time.

The only way to go from XP Pro to XP Home is to format Pro out of exsistance
and then install Home.

Your only solution is to reformat the C: drive and then install a
fresh copy of XP Home onto it.

Vista Upgrade will not install if the Windows XP being upgraded has
not been validated.

Good luck
