Replacing OE with Outlook 2007

Rick

Hi,

Despite making Outlook 2007 my default program for email (with the
appropriate options selected in both Outlook and Outlook Express) and
abandoning Outlook Express for any email-related activity, OE keeps coming
up as the default program when I elect to send an email from any number of
web sites. I cannot figure out how to rid myself of OE and have Outlook take
its place. I'm at my wit's end. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,
Rick

Rick -

Can you confirm that MSFT Outlook is listed, and selected under the Email
drop down in Internet Explorer / Tools / Programs ?

Hi Dan, and thanks for responding. Yes, "Microsoft Office Outlook" is
selected for email, as it is wherever a default email program selection is
called for. OE is selected for "Newsgroups" only, which is all I use it for.
Yet, several websites want to use OE to send email. I can't figure it out,
so I'm hoping you or someone can.

Thanks,
Rick

Check the properties. of the "URL:Mailto Protocol" on the File Types tab of
the Folder Options Control Panel. The correct values have been posted in
this newsgroup before. Google Groups will help you find the prior postings.
