replacing dll files

Hello
Trying to determine the 'correct' size for the following dll files, and, how to replace them if necessary

shdoclc.dll and shcocuv.dl

Located two (2) copies on my machine running win2KPro

One file is in winnt/system32, the other in winnt/servicepacks/I38

The files are different sizes (521kb v. 325kb) with different dates, the I386 file (325kb) is dated 6/2003
the system32 file (521kb) is dated 8/2002

I think the system32 file is infected with a virus/worm that is keeping IE6 from running properly
Spybot, NAV2004, Adaware (a a couple of others) have run on the machine, but the problem still exists

Seeking suggestions.

What would the impact be if I replace the system32 521kb file with the I386325kb file

TIA

Bill

sys32 file (521kb) is a later version than I386.(325kb)
Don't have any shcocuv.dll

The situation on my system is also peculiar. In system32 and
system32\dllcache I have:
shdoclc.dll 392,704 07/23/2001 19:16 (version 5.50.4807.2300)

In ServicePack Files\I386 I have:
shdoclc.dll 332,288 07/22/2002 12:05 (version 5.00.3502.5039)

You would think that the later version would have a leter date. On the
other hand if this is actually an IE component, it makes sense that the
installed version matches the version of IE I'm using. Check the version
numbers on the files you have and see if the copy in use id actually the
later version.
