Replacement fan for X700Pro?

J

Jonathan Fidelis

Just upgraded from the ATI 9600 AIW to the X700Pro AGP. The AIW doesn't have
a fan, so I find the X700Pro noisy. (I built a silent PC, so now the only
thing that I hear is the X700's fan).

I have two questions.
1. Is there a quieter fan that can easily replace the stock fan?
2. Or, would I be better off to buy a Zalman liguid coller or a Arctic
cooling silencer? If I go for this route, how hard is it to remove the stock
heatsink/fan?

THANKS!

No, you can't just replace the fan as it is a special design. I
suggest you get one of these and run it with the 5v mod setting that
Zalman provides. This is what I use on my X800XL and it's a lot
quieter than the stock HSF and cools a bit better too.
