I recently had my windows xp stop working due to a corrupted or missing file.
I have my productivity key for Windows xp but windows was pre-installed so I
didn't get a cd. How do I go about getting a replacement cd? I have gotten
the run around, but no luck in contacting the right people. Help!

Windows came pre-installed and that means you have OEM.
Contact the computer manufacturer for replacement media.

If the OEM can not help, there is a very small chance Microsoft can:

To resolve the issue, post details in a new thread and someone may be
able to help resolve the problem.

You can also try:
Start/Run
Type "sfc /scannow" ENTER
Typically for OEM installations, no media is needed.
If the media is requested, this option may not work.
