Repetitive Logons

I have 4 users on my XP SR2 computer.
Whenever I stop using the keyboard or mouse for a few minutes, the screen
goes black and I have to re-login with a password.

Constantly doing this all day is driving me crazy.

I have removed the check on "Prompt for password when computer resumes from
standby" but it does not help.

I am not sure that when the screen goes black that this is standby mode. It
may be something else.

Any ideas?

Screensaver?

Change the settings on your screensaver.
'On resume, password protect.' or 'On resume, display Welcome Screen.'

I think you are diving too deep into the levels of screen protection. =)

There's one other place you may want to check.

Go to Control Panel and double click Display.
In Display Properties, click on the Screen Saver tab.
Make sure "On resume, show the Welcome Screen (or password
protect)" is unchecked.
Click OK.

Good luck

Thank you Shenan and Nepatsfan. You hit the nail on the head.

It was the Screen Saver "On resume display Welcome Screen".

Thanks a bunch.
