Repeated Outlook Crash when opening a shared folder

We have a problem with Outlook crashing every time a user clicks on one of 2
particular shared folders. We are using Exchange. Other users can open the
same folders without error but every time this particular person clicks
either the Inbox or Sent Mail folder of the shared mailbox Outlook crashes.

This happened in the past with just one of the folders and after exporting
all the users folders to a local PST file the mailbox was detached from the
user on Exchange and a new one attached. The data was reimported in and it
was ok for a couple of months.

The Eventviewer shows the following error:

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 12.0.6514.5000, stamp 4a89dc70,
faulting module outlook.exe, version 12.0.6514.5000, stamp 4a89dc70, debug?
0, fault address 0x0066346c.

Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot the issue would be very helpful.

We only just got to try this solution as we had already deleted the mailbox
of the user experiencing the problem and recreated it from scratch to try and
get around the issue. I've been waiting for someone else to experience a
similar problem and today it happened so I was able to try it.

It worked perfectly. Thanks so much for responding,

Phil

I'd try restarting outlook with the /cleanviews switch. (it will wipe out
any custom views tho)

Today there are a lot of utility available by which you can repair your Outlook pst file which were corrupted due to any reason of data loss situation. You can scanpst.exe 2007 to resolve such problems and this also helps you resolve most of Outlook problems easily and effectively.
