repeated "my docs" back up

Recently purchased windows xp and and was surprised by how
much space was suddenly taken on my computer. One problem
I noticed was that everything I put into the My Documents
folder (and I save a lot of pictures) is backed up twice-
once in "documents and settings"/default/mydocuments, and
again under a newly created folder "arce's documents" (I
entered "arce" as my user name for xp).
I've noticed that if I deleted filed in the backups, the
file is also deleted in the original My Documents file- so
I fear that deleted the 2 backups will lead to a loss of
everything.

the only location of your pictures might be
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\My Document
'My Computer\Arce's Documents' might be only a link to the above location
