Repeated error message as a read receipt can't be sent.

Hi

A few weeks ago someone sent me a message with a read receipt. I clicked
the "Send read receipt" button but the read receipt is stuck in limbo in
Outlook. It's not in the Outbox but the status bar keeps saying "Sending
message 1 of 1" and then errors:

Task 'Will - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out
waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to
receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service
provider (ISP).'

I've been able to send and receive other emails before and since.

How can I stop this. (I use VBA a fair bit in Excel so I imagine there may
be a VBA solution?)

Regards

Will

Hi Folk

I tried downloading and installing OutlookSpy. All that installed was a
dll. Nothing that would run.

Do you have any other suggestions?

The above link did work for me, but it's trialware. I had the same problem
twice, a few months apart, and the second time I couldn't use it without
paying for it. But Microsoft puts out a free utility that will get the job
done. Try:
