Suddenly, I can't keep Outlook running more than 2
minutes. I have been using Outlook 2000 for years. I have
2 computers running Windows XP and networked to use the
same .pst. My wife and I both us both PCs with separate
logins and Outlook profiles. Her version does have the
same problem I'm having.
When I start Outlook, it comes up fine and retrieves mail
from my mail host. Within a minute or, at most, two
minutes, it will crash and put up the "send a report to
Microsoft" dialog. It does this whether I actually do
anything in Outlook or not. I ran the "Detect and Repair"
utility still have the problem.
This behaviour started on Saturday. I can't think of
anything that has changed on the system since Friday. I
installed and then uninstalled Yahoo Messenger early
Saturday but haven't changed anything else.
Any hints?

First run scanpst.exe to check your pst-file for error.
Also see if clearing the Deleted Items folder helps
If it still doesn't solve your issue locate outcmd.dat and rename it to
outcmd.old. This will reset the Toolbar

BINGO!
Renaming outcmd.exe did the trick nicely.
Thanks a bazillion, Roady!
