There is an absence of postings on my list in this category between 10.00hr
and 14.00hr. and so I am repeating my posting, which was made at 13.01hr.:-
The listing of my Contacts has changed and now I cannot get any blank emails
with an address. The emails I get have an enclosure attached to it, which is
the contact itself. How do I restore my Contacts list to its previous
version, or how do I get a addressed blank email from the new list? Please
repost any answers made.
The only probable cause that appears to me is that it maybe caused by
Norton's, which I installed few days ago - is it possible?

Most versions of the Norton antivirus software cause assorted problems in
Windows Mail, although seldom that fast. So do most versions of the
McAfee antivirus software, and a recent version from Trend. You should
uninstall the Norton software, then run this program for more cleanup:

You may even need to remove your email account under Windows Mail,
then create it again.

Also click on Tools in Windows Mail, then Windows Contacts, then
right click on the empty space at the right, then click Customize This
Folder, then click on the triangle, then Contacts, then Apply, then OK,
then the X at the top right of the contacts window.

If this works, you may want to get a replacement antivirus program.
I recommend either avast! or AVG, either one with a custom install
that tells it to leave out the part that scans email.

Hi, thank you for the reply. I managed to restore my Contacts to the
Microsoft Version, but with a slight change to your instructions under
Tools. I could not find the triangle, so I clicked on Restore Default and
that restored my Contacts. You are right about Nortons.(What a waste of
money!) I am encountering all sorts of problems.E.g.I lost connection to the
internet on my other PC with Win.XPPro and their Customer Services failed up
till now to correct this. This morning I lost the use of the Mouse on this
computer and had to restart it. I already have AVG, (which is supposed to be
compatible with Nortons) but the advice is to have two of everything-
Antivirus, Antispyware ect. What would you recommend instead of Nortons to
run with AVG? I already have SuperAntiSpyware.

It's not a good idea to have two antivirus programs at once. They tend
to interfere with each other. The other antivirus program known to work
well with Windows Mail is avast!, with a custom install that tells it to
leave out the part that scans email.

Having more than anti-spyware program doesn't hurt, though. I have
Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy.
