I have a 80GB harddrive that I initally partitioned C:=20GB and
D:=60GB...I
find that I need to repartition so there is more memory in C:,,,can I do
this
without reformatting the whole thing?
Are you getting error messages? What are they?
Memory isn't stored in C. Your post doesn't make much sense.
Have a nice one...

C'mon Trent, you've been around these newsgroups long enough to know that
what the poster obviously means is "capacity" of his (or her) hard drive
partitions. He (or she) is incorrectly using the term "memory" in this
instance. Would you & I have $1 for every user who so confuses the two
terms, we'd both be multi-millionaires.
Note to poster: As I think you've already been told in previous responses to
your query, you will need to use a third-party program such as Partition
Magic to repartition your hard drive, i.e., allocating additional disk space
to your C: partition by reducing the disk space in your D: partition.
Unfortunately, the utility included in XP (Disk Management) will not allow
you to do this at this stage without the loss of all your data on the two
partitions..
