I have a problem with my Windows XP CD, it has a scratch
on it and some of the files are corrupt. This does not
stop windows from installing but it causes problems with
windows after it is installed and updated. I was
wondering if there was anything I can download to repair
the windows files that are corruped on my C:\? Please e-
mail me if you cant exactly tell me on this site.

Fix the scratches on your cd with a cd repair kit. Re-install that may work
also test the data on the cd.

First, try the other recomendation to repair the CD.
If you get it to work (or you cannot get it to work) - try the following:

If it was a Retail copy and you have proof of the purchase:
How to Replace Lost, Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or Hardware
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326246

If it was an OEM license, you should contact whomever sold you the
OS.

ALSO.. Sometime a different CD drive can do wonders.. if you have another
one lying around, put it in and give it a shot.

To repair windows files,go to run, type:cmd
Type:Sfc /Scannow
This is windows file protection utility,a bar graph will start after you press enter,
then you need to install xp xd,exit the text page, when its thru, remove cd,type:
EXIT
