Usally when I have a problem with IE I can go to the add or delete programs
and click on "Repair" IE. Unfortunetly IE doesn't show up in the list. So how
can I repair or reinstall IE 6.
One other issue, in using a registry cleaner I lost the abaility to pull up
"Help and Support" from the start menu. Any help is appreciated.

Windows version?

Why do you feel it's necessary to repair or reinstall IE?

Good "registry cleaners" have an "undo" option. Does yours?

When you go to Add/Remove you have to look to the left and click on
"Add/Remove Windows Components"

There is another Internet Explorer Repair Tool listed in the Tools tab
of System Information. Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools,
System Information. If you have the IE6 setup.exe, you can use that,
but you might have to be on the Internet.

On the Add/Remove, check the Windows Setup tab to see if System Tools
is listed, unchecked. If so, check it, and it will re-install. Hope
it helps.

Thanks, Charlie.
I tried to re-install but IE showed to disk space used. Also, the ie
setup.exe is not on the pc. I guess I'll try finding that on the internet .
Thanks for your help,
Rick.

Peter,

This is not what you think it is. Hint: look at the size.
Also when you go into it look at the Description... ;)

Since the OP still seems disinclined to disclose his OS
this reply is intended only to be a clarification for you
and any lurkers who also have XPsp2.

You can get some of what you are imagining (i.e. the
old IE Repair facility documented by KB194177)
by using the new, XPsp2 only, command-line switch:

iexplore.exe /rereg

(Ref. KB870700)

For some of my previous answers on general registry
repair in XP do a Google Groups search with KB870700
as a keyword.

Thanks for trying to help!
