Internet Explorer fixes and updates not working

When I open IE, it goes to my home page of My Yahoo, then it pops up a new
window "WinFixer--Internet Explorer error detected". That new page remains a
blank page. After using all the various patches or fixes for IE 6 Sps 1 & 2
and trying to repair with the XP disc, nothing has changed. Tried to
uninstall IE but to no avail. When I try to install IE 6.0, it states I have
a "newer" edition. Pages viewed in IE begin to shred at the top, and when I
close them, the page under it is blank until I click on the slider bar. I've
used AVG anti-virus, Spybot, Pest Patrol, Registry Mechanic, etc. and find no
real problems. What do I do from here? Thanks for any help you can offer,

I think you may be confused Rick.

The window "WinFixer--Internet Explorer error detected" is just a popup ad
that your anti-virus or content control has blocked and that is why the page
is blank. You probably don't have any errors and this window is just a ploy
to suck you in to their web site.

You can adjust your popup blocker settings for IE (XP version) to block
popups from your Yahoo home page to stop this ad appearing.

I trust this answers your concerns.

Can you tell me if it would be a fix or update to get my IE working
correctly? From March to October I had DSL Verizon with MSN now I can't use
the DSL. I can get onto aol and can not search, I can get onto msn and can
not search but if I'm on both of them I can search.

Thank You for your input to this problem
