repaires windows?

i've just repaired xp through the start up disk now i
seem to have lost all my registry settings and system
restore's returning a error (rstrui.exe-entry point not
found ) can anyone help me out with this

Hey Andy,

Do you mean you've done a repair install and reloaded the xp program files,
or you've done a reintstall which wiped everything. When you say startup
disk, do you mean the windows xp release cd ?

If you repaired using the windows xp release cd, then any programs which
were replaced with fixes have gone back to their original versions.

Try reapplying any updates and try restore again.

You'll get the entry point not found message until you reinstall SP1
