Repair XP installation

R

Rob

On start up, I received the following message:

Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt:
\windows\system32\config\system

I'm trying to repair my installation by booting from the
XP setup CD. What commands are needed to repair this file?

Thanks,
Rob

Was this on an SP2 upgrade. Because that is exactly what happened to me (see
post a little later than this one).

I followed the M'soft repair process. But couldn't fix it.

Let us know.
