How can I do a windows xp prof. reair to Service pack 1
without doing a new install?
 
Follow the repair install instructions and re-install the SP1. You need to
re-install all updates allow.

There are instructions, on the web, on how to create an updated Windows XP
install CD with SP1 placed into the files.
