repair or reinstall?????

Some time back my MB burned and took several other components with it.
Rebuilt and reinstalled XP and I
am now at the point that my system requires repair or reinstallation.
Considering the nightmare activation became after rebuild , am leaning
toward repair, but will reinstall if it is the best solution. Any
suggestions? Thanks ,

You should always try a repair install first since it is relatively
painless.
If it doesn't work that's a different story but repair is obviously easier
and faster and retains your settings and programs etc...
