I am trying to run a repair installation off the windows
XP original CD. after it starts, from a dos prompt it
asks for an administrators password. I am running XP
home, and there is no administrator. I am the only user
and no password is set up. I have tried setting up a
password and using that but it doesn't work. Any
suggestions??

Hi, Absame.

There is no password, by default. Unless you've installed one, try just
pressing Enter when asked for the password.

You are taking the wrong option if you are trying to do a repair install.

Normally in this situation, you leave the password field, TAB over if
needed, and Enter to use a blank
