I booted from my XP CD (also tried an SP2 slipstream) and it hangs on
"Loading Files Debug Kernal DLL" Actually, it sits and then after a while
the CD ROM drive spins down. It is not the CD per-cd since I was able to
boot off of it on another XP system and it continued to load way past this
file.

I am TRYING to change out motherboards by using the "Repair Install"
method.I have been trying and trying, but to no avail.

What makes it stop like that? What should I do?

Help would be appreciated.--

TIA,
KWW

Thanks. Found the problem... based on some of the other posted solutions to
semi-similar problems I swapped out the memory and things started to work.
Stupid generic memory!!! While the PC tool PC2700, I had a stick of PC3200
(generic) and figured it should be even more likely to work in the 333 FSB
(166*2) application... especially if I made sure that the BIOS did not kick
up the speed.... well, after swapping out for some Kingston PC2700 the
Repair Install worked. I then swapped back the generic memory and, while it
booted up, it was FLAKY as all get out. Ended up switching back to the
Kingston. So much for saving a little $$.
