Hello,

I recently reformated my main computer and finished updating all my drivers,
installing most of my software and runing various windows updates. I just
installed service back 2 on it and (to no real supprise) it stoped booting
in any mode. I do have my original disk but unfortuanetly it is at home. I
have read the articles on how to remove the uncomplete install of service
back 2 but they all involve the disk. I have a fully legal copy of it and it
is activated. What I was wondering is if there are any boot disks I can burn
to a cd using this computer to get into the repair function and remove
service back 2.

I personaly dont see why there wouldnt be but I am unable to locate one.

I have tryed booting multiple times. Tryed loading my computer with last
known working settings and have tryed safe mode. It is quite obvious to me
WHAT my problem is but I dont realy wana wait another day (at least) to get
ahold of my disk to fix it.

Any help would be apreciated

I think you'd be best off if you found a good FREE spell-checker before
posting again.

As it is, I think you're absolutely the WORST speller I've seen in my
fifteen years on Usenet... which means (to me) that you're the biggest
idiot I've seen in those years.

I don't think I'm wrong.

While I would usualy not even flinch at a silly post like you made. It does
somewhat suprise me that you would be posting such a thing on HERE. If this
where one of the forums I would usualy go to you would simply be laughed at
and I would probably attempt some sort of flame to make myself apear to be
"cool" or whatever. I have learned long ago though that such thinking is
quite dumb.

I would prob say something more along the lines of

"Sorry my spellchecker is on the computer that is currently not booting. If
you where to actualy offer suggestions that may help fix it I could stop
being an anoyance to you with my less than perfect spelling and grammer by
having access to it again."

Then again that would be dumb and as such I shall just call this a spam post
and randomly walk away.

have fun in your perfect grammar world :)

Please understand that, unfortunately, there are persons who inhabit this
and other newsgroups whose only aim is to verbally insult and antagonize
persons seeking help. As a group, they are nasty wretches who contribute
nothing of value to this, or any other newsgroup. Neither they, nor their
"contributions", are to be taken seriously since their apparent aim is
merely to demonstrate how mean-spirited one person can be. Believe me -
those kinds of persons are not representative of the contributors to this
newsgroup who, by & large, try to provide responsible assistance to those
seeking help.

As to your query - I really do not know how one can undertake a Repair
install of the XP operating system without the XP installation CD. While
Microsoft does have available downloads to create "Setup Disks" for a floppy
disk install of the XP operating system, to the best of my knowledge one
cannot undertake a Repair install using such disks since they're designed to
provide a fresh installation of the OS. At least that's my recollection.

If there is any media or technique that's available to provide this
capability, perhaps someone may post this information. Incidentally, even is
such was available you would still have to have available your Product ID
which is needed during the Repair install.

If you can boot to Safe Mode with Command Prompt you might be able to run
System Restore. Follow the advice here
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=304449&sd=RMVP

If that doesn't work then you will need access to the Recovery Console. Burn
this ISO to CD and use it to access the recovery console
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/Tools/bootdiscs/xp_rec_con.zip Remember that
this is an ISO file so you must use the correct procedure for writing to CD>
If you don't know how to do that then follow the example here

Do you know how much of an idiot you look like posting from google groups?
