REPAIR Console Commands & Utilities

Note the emphasis in Subject, the first [R] option when you boot to a WinXP
Install CD.

Where is there a full list of commands and utilities that can be used in the
Repair Console?

What I'm specifically looking is a full list of repair utilities, like
CHKDSK, that can be run from the Repair Console.

1. It is called "Recovery Console".
2. Learn to do your own research. Then you can...
3. Read all about it here:

Enter "Recovery Console Commands" into the Help and Support app's search
window, or go to start/run, and type:

HH mk:mad:MSITStore:%windir%\Help\bootcons.chm::/recovery_console_cmds.htm

OPPS - Spoke too soon.

The commands list is just the native (DOS-like) commands.

What I was looking for is *other* fix utilities that can be run from the
Recovery Console. I seem to remember one for scanning/fixing Registry
problems for example. Notice Regedit is not listed.

So what are the non-native utilities that can be run from the Recovery
Console to fix problems with WinXP?

There are no such things available in the Recovery Console. Other than
copying/moving/switching registry hives around you can do a grand total
of zero things with the registry in the Recovery Console. The
information provided by others show all that can be done in the Command
Console environment.
