repair console - admin password

Hello,

When I tried to run the repair console I was prompted for the administrator
password. I never created one and hence I re-installed XP, thinking it would
override the existing files. I now have two XP versions.
At any rate, I created an admin password and tried the repair console again.
It did not accept the newly created password.
I need help with these 2 problems:

1. How do I access the repair console?? How do I get around the password
dilemma?

2. How do I uninstall the extra XP install??

Many thanks in advance.

I use the XP Home Edition--

From "http://www.theeldergeek.com"
Recovery Console Password-
On many XP installations you can't start the Recovery Console because it
won't recognize your password. This registry edit causes the Recovery Console
not to ask for a password. This works for both XP Home and XP Professional.
Start | Run | Regedit
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Setup\RecoveryConsole
Set the DWORD SecurityLevel value to 1
Exit Registry and Reboot
