Hello,

Is there a way to rename the column heading from the generic alphabet to actual field names? Thus allowing record number 1 to be aligned accurately with the first row. The reason is, whenever I do a mail merge, the record numbers are always one digit off. Although the records will print, I continually receive an error message form the printer. Also, how does one edit the numbering on the left. Thanks a bunch!!

Hi Clay,
but you can use starting at
A2: =ROW(-1)

Put the column headers you want to see on Row 1

also take a look at
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/freeze.htm

to freeze to top row(s) and left column(s) for display, and
to indicate rows to repeat at top, and columns to repeat at left
for printing.
