Renaming all pictures in a folder

Is there a way to rename all pictures in a folder so that
they will be listed in order by number? IE, I have folder
with pictures of my daughter in it and I would like to
rename all the pictures in it(101 of them) so that they
all had her name and then a number in asceding order.
Basically I would like to take all the pictures and
rename them Tianna 001 - Tianna 101. I realize that you
could rename all the pictures individually, but that
would be extremely time consuming. Is this possible? And
if it is, how would I do it?

Windows XP can do this very easily.

Open the image folder and go to...
Edit / Select All...

Right click the first image and choose Rename.

Enter... "Tianna (1).jpg" (without the quotes)

Press *Enter*

Windows will add the remainder of the new names.

Tianna (1).jpg
Tianna (2).jpg
Tianna (3).jpg


For a slightly more complicated way but with
more options...try the excellent freeware
IrfanView:
