When i try to rename folders in explorer i get the
message that the folder is in use by another program. to
my knowledge it is not as explorer is the only program
open. the only way i have found to get round this is to
reboot and then it will allow me to rename.

If the folders have been opened at some point even though
you closed them, sometimes they are still cached. To
clear the cachings, right-click My Computer, choose
Manage, Computer Management will come up, go to Shared
Folders, go to Open Files. Right-click and close any
folders you are trying to rename. Hope this helps.

Unfortunatly not. it showed no open folders at all but i
still couldn't rename folders although i seem to be able
to rename individual files OK.
