Remvoe conditional formating but not the effect

Can anyone advise if it is possible to remove the conditional formatting from
an Excel2007 file whilst keeping the formatting?

I have a sheet with around 50 formats per cell and need to send it to
someone with ExcelXP.

You don't have to remove it.

From help on "stop if true"

Select the Stop If True check box for backwards compatibility with previous
versions of Microsoft Office Excel 2007 that do not support multiple
conditional formatting rules. For example, if you have three conditional
formatting rules for a range of cells, by default, a version of Excel
previous to Office Excel 2007 applies the last rule in precedence. If you
want the first or second rule applied, select the Stop If True check box for
that rule.

I have the stop if true box ticked for every rule. However as all 50 rules
are applied to every cell I get the below error:

Some cells have more conditional formats than are allowed in this version of
Excel. Only the first three conditions will be displayed.

Therefore I need to remove the conditional formatting whilst keeping the
format. Is this possible?

I don't know how to keep the formatting if all the rules are deleted.

I had the same issue as this, but in a map that I wanted to color
individual locations by their corresponding zones. I worked around by
first copying the map to a new sheet, one sheet with a map that had
zones and color, the other sheet with a map that had locations and no
color, but otherwise identical in size, rows, colums, etc. Then I went
to the map with the conditional formatting I wanted, selected Web Page
Preview, and selected and copied the whole grid in Web Page Preview
(it opened up in IE). I then copied this into another sheet, and then
copied that map, Paste Special -> Formats.
Worked great for me... Hope it helps out.

I've gotten rid of conditional formatting without getting rid of the formats by copying the cells into PowerPoint and then back into Excel. PPT keeps the formatting but doesn't have any conditional formatting options, so when you paste it back into Excel it only keeps the formatting.

Hope that helps.

OMG... THANK YOU SO MUCH! :D It is a ridiculous situation indeed, I've always wondered why microsoft employees are not doing a little bit of research on MS Office forums to find out what options are obviously missing from their softwares. Anyways thanks guys!
