Removing XXX sites from my PC?

I would like to remove a Porn link completely off of my
PC. Embarrassing links are placed on my Windows browser
and desktop. I've removed the program via "Add remove
Programs" option which does remove it, but the program
reinstalls itself when I reboot the PC. So I felt that
an .exe file must be placed somewhere in the root
directory for which I found and deleted the whole file.
Again, upon reboot, the program reinstalls the file again
and places these annoying icons on my desktop and browser
window. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like a pesky old spyware at it's best. My advice
Frank is to Download a spyware proggy, theres lots out
there. Just do a search on google for "spybot" and d/l it.
You also may be infected with a virus so checking your pc
out with norton or whatever virus software your using will
also bring peace of mind.

When visiting such the sites be careful not to download/install
their "free" viewers. ;-} To repair the current situation, uninstall
the "viewer(s)" provided and then use Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de
and SpyBot Search and Destroy from http://security.kolla.de/ to clean
up any residue. Both have free evaluation versions.

You should also try using MSConfig to see if something is being
started each time you reboot.

Additionally, Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the
system registry, primarily in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
