Removing Windows XP search text

Hi.

I hope there's a simple solution to this situation. I use XP Media edition.
With a couple of programs, for example Media Player 11, I went to its help
section and selected the search tab. I then entered whatever search terms I
was looking for and clicked List topics and I would get the appropriate
results.

The problem is I can't permanently delete whatever words I entered, even
after rebooting the system. The best I can do is temporarily clear them from
the screen but the words will reappear when I select help and the search tab
again. Is there a simple way to permanently delete whatever text was entered?
Obviously, this is nothing major but it is something of an annoyance. Thanks
for any help.

Thanks Alan. I tried your suggestion and it didn't work. I guess I'm stuck
with the text.

Yes, I also tried it but it appears to be too old for WMP 11 as it
does not clear the help history.
Is that the only one you want to remove?

I think there was some other small program that has the same thing but Media
Player 11 is the main one.

Oh. Something else I tried. I deleted MP 11 and reverted back to MP 10. It
actually removed the text. However, when I upgraded to MP 11, the text
returned.
