I am trying to install Windows XP and remove Windows 2000 Professional. I am
getting an error as I install XP. The screen says ohci1394.sys is corrupt.
How do I go about still installing XP?

You've posted in a newsgroup for questions about installing the Windows
Vista operating system, not XP. Since you're here, a quick Google shows
that file to be for a firewire component.

1. Are you doing a clean install or trying to upgrade? If the latter,
remove all extra hardware and install with only your video card, RAM,
one hard drive, one optical drive. Remove all PCI cards.

2. If you are trying to do a clean install, are you sure the computer
meets XP's system requirements?

Problems with installing an operating system are usually caused by:

a. Bad CD
b. Bad optical drive
c. Bad RAM
d. Bad hard drive
e. Incompatible hardware.

You'll need to give us more information if you want focused help.
