removing the e-mail alert when turning on the computer

When we get to the log on page it shows us which user has e-mail waiting.
This has caused conflict among the kids on who gets to see thier mail fisrt.
Can this be turned off and if so how?

Hi

Download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp and when
installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go to
Logon>Unread Mail - disable it in the right hand pane.
