removing security from "c:\documents and settings"

Hello all

I purchased a new PC and hooked up the primary HD from my old PC to the new one as a secondary HD. When I try to go to the "[x]:\Documents and Settings\[user name]" of my old HD to retrieve some files, Windows displays the following msg

[x]:\Documents and Settings\[user name] is not accessible
Access is denied

It appears that even though I am no longer booting from this old HD, its security protection still exist. How do I remove the security protection so I can access my old files

Thanks!
