I want to remove the password I installed when I first set
up XP. The glossary indicated it can be done but I can not
find out how anywhere. Help appreciated.

Go to control panel / user accounts select your account
and choose remove password (or similar)

.
Can't you go to the control panel in the start menu and
then user settings. You should be able to remove
passwords from there in change accounts.
