Boot to xp cd,recovery, typeiskPart In DiskPart delete all
partitions,create
one, press ESC key, type:EXIT Reboot to xp cd,install xp. Thier is 3rd party
software that can do the same w/o deleting xp,but you'll need to search for
it..
I have restore CD that I had to create when I first got the laptop. It
automatically installs 2 drives. I dont have a stand alone XP Disc. Any
suggestions?
I use BootItNG for that http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/bootitng.html
download it and expand it to a floppy
start system with floppy in place
when it asks where to install to ..click cancel and it will run off the
floppy
then click Partition Work..........it will show you all of your partitions.
The object is to delete the D partition ..it will then show up as
unallocated space.
then you need to expand the C parition to include that unallocated space.
there is a readme file that you should read.
The usual warnings apply...all info on the D partition will be lost
99% of the time the C partition will
be fine..no data lost
just because it worked for me does
not mean it will work for you
BACK UP before doing this................just in case
