removing page numbers in 2007

I use a lot of templates that were created in 2003 version and I need to
remove page numbers on some of them. I have clicked everywhere and can only
find out how to edit or add page numbers....not remove.. Any help will be
greatly appreciated.

Do you mean slide numbers? To remove them from the template click on the
View tab of the ribbon, select slide master view, click the Insert tab on
the ribbon, click on Headers and footers button, remove check next to slide
number, click on Apply to all. Close master view. Save your template.
Does that work for you? Or have I completely misunderstood the question?
