You inquired about the issues I am trying to resolve. So I'll tell you. A few
months ago at my wife's recommendation, I upgraded from Outlook 2000 to
Outlook 2003 because it supposedly had better SPAM handling capabilities. I
now wish I had never upgraded. My specific problem and reason for wanting to
start from scratch is problems with "ghost" contact files that I can't
resolve. I am a Realtor and to keep my contacts manageable I keep them in
several sub-contact folders. A while back I tied to delete some of these, and
they appeared to have been deleted as do not show up when I open Contacts.
But if I am creating an email and click on "To" to assign the email address
these folders still appear. Also, I would like to reuse these folder names
but apparently as long as these "Ghost" folders exist the names are
considered used and can't be assigned to another folder. If you know how to
resolve this issue I would not need to completely remove and reinstall
Outlook 2003. I do know how to save the emails and contacts, and do plan to
save these before I wipe out my current Outlook 2003. Now let me vent just a
little. Another issue I discovered just yesterday, that did not make me too
happy with Outlook 2003. I was in one of my contact files and clicked on
"Actions" wanting to send a letter. I received an error message telling me I
didn't have the right version of Word. I didn't upgrade my version of Word
when I upgraded to Outlook 2003 so since I still have Word 2000 I can no
longer use this feature unless I let Bill Gates get back in my pocket and buy
a new version of Word as well. What a rip-off!

May I ask what issue you are trying to solve this way? You even want to get
rid of all your previously emails or just start with a new mail account?

I need to uninstall and reinstall Outlook 2003 including all the data. In
other words when I reinsall it I need it to be as thought the program had
never been installed. I know how to uninstall the program, but exacty
where
is the data stored, that is which files store the data? And will I need to
take special steps to remove them. I know that windows can be very
protective
of certain files not alowing them to be deleted.
Thanks for any help.
