Removing Lines from Cells, Please

J

Jim

I am trying to copy just the words out of a cell. I know that I can delete
the columns by using Table > Delete > Columns, but in one cell I want to
delete all of the columns, except for one, and then get rid of the lines for
the rows, thus leaving a list of words in the column with no horizontal
lines above or below them.

Is there a way to do this? Or, do I have to copy-and-paste the info in each
line of each cell, in order to do this. I’ve tried everything, and there
are many rows. Help. I am using Word 2002. Thanks in advance. Jim

Are you saying you just want to remove cell borders? Use the Borders and
Shading dialog or (more easily) the Borders button on the Formatting or
Tables and Borders toolbar to remove the borders from the selected sides.

Or possibly you could select the column and Merge all the cells? But note
that merging the column will only retain the text in the first cell.
