? Removing Icons from My Computer

A

Alec Soroudi

Hi,

I use TweakUI to remove the User Document folder and Control Panel icons
from My Computer, however, I want to remove the link to my camera and
scanner as well. In other words, I want ONLY the drives to show up in My
Computer.

How can I do that?

Thanks.

Hi Alec,

Staar/run regedit, navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComp
uter\NameSpace

Remove (delete) the subkeys under this branch that refer to the unwanted
icons. leave everything else intact. I suggest you export a copy before
deleting, just in case.

HAH! I knew it! I knew there had to be some kind of Namespace reg key
or something. It worked like a charm.

Thank! :) Now I wonder if there's a way to do it in HKCU instead of
HKLM...

Hi Alec,

No, I don't think so as it is not a user-defined setting.
