I cant access my 40g hd because of an error involving
Roxio's GoBack. I forgot to disable it before trying to
upgrade to a 250g hd. I messed that part up so I wanted
to back out and start again. When I rebooted the 40g it
made it to the inital winxp screen before it gave me an
autochk program not found. THen a flash message about
some kind of fatal error, then it tries to reboot over and
over. I tried recovery console, but it tells me I have a
dynamic drive and am I sure I was to "fixmbr?" Im afraid
that will be a point of no return so I didn't know if I
should try it. I tried the manual removal of goback using
the solution listed in knowledge base (ctl+alt+G), but
that didn't seem to work either. Any ideas?

You know, I'm don't think having a dynamic disk has an affect on the
MBR, but maybe someone else knows for sure. I was under the impression
that the MBR is not part of a partition or volume type, but just a
beginning sector of the HD. It doesn't mention any warnings here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;321641

This website offers all the functions of the Recovery Console. Just
browse down to FIXBOOT and FIXMBR ;)
