Removing Dual Boot

Michel Racicot

How can I remove the dual boot and Vista partition from my system and return
back to my original primary OS?

Here is my setup:

Partition 1 : Windows XP (First OS)
Partition 2: Windows Vista

Partition 2 was created by Partition Magic...

If I destroy partition 2, will the dual boot be modified as well?

Download vista boot pro from http://www.pro-networks.org
It will let you delete the vista bootloader and reinstate Xp's "boot.ini"
file after that you can boot into Xp, use the disk management tools to
format your vista partition and all will be back to normal.

The way i do it with my machine is download VistaBootPro
(www.vistabootpro.org) and install it on the Vista partition. Once installed
run VistaBootPro. Click the Bootloader tab and then click on the radio
button next to the 'Uninstall the vista bootloader' option, then click the
Apply button. Now restart your PC. The original boot menu should now not
appear and you should boot into XP. Once in XP you can delete the partition
(or format it) that Vista was installed on.
