Hi all,
I have a sheet w/ 10 columns & 100 rows that I scattered Data Validation all
over. Now I'd like to remove the validation from most (not all) cells and
certainly don't feel like entering data into 1000 cells to find which has
validation and which doesn't . Anyway to find this info easier?

Hi Jeff

you can remove the data validation all in one go by selecting the column
headings and then choosing data / validation / Clear all - it doesn't matter
that the types of validation are different. (actually when you select the
columns & choose data / validation it will prompt to erase the current
validation - i always do a clear all anyway after this).

i'm guessing that this would be the easiest approach for you - remove all
the validation and then put it back on the cells that you want it to have.

Cheers

Select your range to examine (ctrl-a (twice in xl2003) to select all the cells).

Edit|goto (or F5 or ctrl-g)
special
check the bottom right corner of that dialog.
There's a "Data Validation" box.
choose all
or same (if you're on a cell with data|Validation)

I should have added: Now you can tab through that selection to get an idea
where they are.
