Removing bloat due to multiple versions

I have been using the Save Version feature to keep track of earlier versions
of a document while I work on it. As a result the size has increased to 42Mb
from 2Mb. Now I would like to get rid of the earlier versions and reduce
the size again. But when I delete the earlier versions and turn off the
'save version on exit' option, the saved document is still 42Mb. How can I
reclaim that extra space and shrink it down to its original version? It
contains lots of macros and codes, so I don't want to convert it unless I
have to.

Jon.

Which version of Word are you using?

You can always use File/Export in the VBA Editor or Tools/Customize/Organizer
to backup/copy VBA code (and toolbars, via Organizer) to another file.
