Removing BCD relating to deleting rc2 partition

wondering what will i need to do when deleting rc2 partition to also remove
the BCD manager.
on an xp / vista dual boot where vista was installed after xp.
the xp partition is first and has the files bootsect.bak and boot.bak at
root. seemingly put there during the vista install.
the goal is to return to xp only partition and not have the BCD manager at
boot time.
will i need to do anything in addition to removing the rc2 partition? like
run bcdedit.exe or???
TIA -James

I havent attempted this yet using the command line version of bcdedit, but
Vista Boot Pro can remove the boot manager. Also, booting to recovery console
from an XP cd and running the fixboot command will also remove the Vista boot
manager.

You can revert to only the XP boot manager by using the bootsect.exe that is
in the boot folder on the Vista DVD.

While XP is running, put the Vista DVD into the DVD drive (I've assumed the
DVD drive is drive D)
open a Command Prompt
key these commands:
D:
cd d:\boot
bootsect /nt52 sys

You should get a response indicating success.

It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
