How can you remove the bad entries from the Add/Remove control panel applet?
I know it can be done, but I can't remember how.....

If you mean programs which have been uninstalled but still
show in Add/Remove Programs, one way is to download
RegCleaner - this gives the option to do just that.

You can get it at:

Hello!
Best way to remove bad entries is to use Regcleaner/JV Power tool,it
deletes the junk entries from the registry hives too.

With regedit.exe - look in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
where there are subkeys for all items listed. I would highlight the
Uninstall and take File - Export first, in case of mistakes, then
selectively delete subkeys

Saw a program on TechTV yesterday. Called Tweak-All 3 if I
remember correctly. It can show even the hidden installed
programs, might be handy to find Trojans.
