Make sure that none of the computers on your network are in that workgroup.
Then be patient, it will disappear on its own. The contents of My Network
Places don't refresh immediately, but they do refresh eventually.

Chuck, I have a similar problem. I created a new common workgroup for three computers, each of which had been previously connected to a different workgroup.

The new workgroup works fine, but when I tried to remove the redundant workgroups, the systems locked up.

I'd like to dump these things, because I'm sure someone in the office will click them out of curiosity, get a lockup and panic.

Are you saying that these old workgroups will eventually disappear without further intervention?

Cheers.
