Removing a Server from Active Directory

I have 2 servers in my AD domain. One is the Root(FSMO
Roles holder,GC) and the other one is a Additional DC. In
this Additional DC, Exchange 2000 is running. I had some
issues in my Exchange setup and i found out that there is
a AD replication issue(ntds.dit file is corrupted). So i
want to demote this Additional DC and repromote it as the
Same computer name. But i can't demote it using DCPROMO.
Is there anyway way that i can remove the server manually
from AD and repromote is using the same name?
Can i do it using the ADSI utilities?

dcpromo /forceremoval should work (if you have the latest
service pack installed)....
