Removing a non-existing "physical" drive created by a software pro

Hi all,

I have 2 hard drives (C:, F:), a CD-Rewritable (E:), and a DVD-Rom (D:). I
recently noticed another drive (G:) when browsing My Computer. This drive is
seen as a physical drive even though I haven't installed anything new on this
pc. I've created virtual drives before by using Alcohol 120%, but have
removed them and tried to remove this new drive (G:). Again, this drive is
not seen as a virtual drive, but as a physical drive. I've removed it by
using the Device Manager only to have it re-appear after restarting my
system. My question is this : How do I remove this drive permanently, it must
have been created by a burning program or a virtual drive creating program,
but I've uninstalled every program except Alcohol 120%, which is the only
program I use to burn with and this drive won't go away ! lol. If anyone can
point me in the right direction, please do so, and thanks in advance

Do you have a printer with a memory card reader? Or a memory card reader? Either of those is seen as a physical drive.

It shows the device name "AXV CD/DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device"
Device Type "DVD/CD-ROM drives"
Location "Bus Number 0, Target ID 0 , LUN 0"

I'm not a guru but, I had virtually the same problem after installing
and then removing CloneCD (or maybe it was Alcohol 120 it's been quite
a while) on a Win98 machine.

The problem turned out to be an entry that had been added to the
device manager, in system devices if I recall correctly. So if you go
to system devices in device manager and find an entry that looks
suspicious you might want to remove it and see what happens.

It shows the device name "AXV CD/DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device"
Device Type "DVD/CD-ROM drives"
Location "Bus Number 0, Target ID 0 , LUN 0"
